Serenity and Sunshine
Paros was the perfect 2 day stopover for some peace and quiet. Between exploring the famous village Naoussa, lounging in the sun at the Kolymbithres beach, grabbing a delicious meal, and watching the sunset, the quaint island of Paros offered me some much needed relaxation. Operating at a pace slower than what most of us are used to, the island challenges us to slow down and really take in our surroundings and who we’re with, something we often forget to do while traveling and more importantly, something most of us don’t do nearly enough in our daily lives.
My time in Paros began with a walk around town, weaving in and out of the little alleyways with boutiques and small eateries. I saw the church of 100 doors and ——. Afterwards, we headed back to the hotel, perched up on a road that sloped upwards, right near a windmill, overlooking the water. We ended the day with a dinner at _____, where I had delicious shrimp.
After getting acquainted with the island the first day, the next morning we set off to explore Naoussa. The old port had many ships, some with people on board weaving fishing nets and going through their catches of the day. Seeing the locals at work really gave me a sense of the town and daily life there.
We grabbed a typical Greek lunch and then headed down to Kolymbithres. This beach is known _______. The water was freezing but of course we took the plunge anyway.
I spent my free time in the afternoon walking around town, popping into shops here and there. My friends and I ate dinner at ______, a little outside place with really reasonable prices! And with several gelato shops in town, you know I got dessert afterwards.
